| Job Summary |
Synectics, Inc.; a local Chicago woman-owned staffing company is looking for a Sr.
Project Manager for a client in Downtown Chicago. This position is scheduled for at
least 6 months will likely extension.
|
| Responsibilities |
o Manage multiple project (3-6) simultaneously
o Ensures that projects are implemented on time and according to defined requirements.
o Develops, monitors and coordinates project activities, such as budget tracking, schedule
tracking, success criteria and reporting.
o Creates and maintains project management artifacts and reports as required by the
PMO.
o Creates project planning documents: scope, change, communication, risk, quality and
other plans as needed.
o Tracks and controls all aspects of delivery to ensure that project objectives are reached.
o Ensures that all stakeholders are updated on project status, budget issues and risks.
o Consults key stakeholders to determine business rules and requirements.
o Conducts facilitated sessions with stakeholders to understand, collect, and document
business and functional requirements.
o Oversees and/or creates business and/or functional requirements documents.
o Acts as Liaison between stakeholders and IT, as needed, to ensure successful delivery
of business solution.
o Serves as lead for change process.
o Implements approved changes using a formal change control process.
o Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with project sponsors,
customers, business users, and key stakeholders.
o Investigates and resolves project-related issues.
o Oversees testing phases and assists in resolving defects.
o Conducts project close-out activity
o Performs duties as assigned by PMO or other management person

| Qualifications |
o Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information
Systems, or Engineering from an accredited university
o Experience in Energy industry retail and/or wholesale gas or power markets preferred
o 10+ years of recent experience in managing multiple projects or programs
simultaneously
o 10-15 years project management experience managing large scale ($5+M) projects
o 10-15 years experience in developing and executing a Scope Management Plan,
Communication Management Plan, Change Management Plan, Risk Management Plan,
Time Management Plan, Cost Management Plan, Quality Management Plan and
Resource Management Plan
o 10-15 years hands-on experience with MS Project
o 10-15 years experience in negotiating, coaching and motivating
others
o Demonstrated application of and proven success of project management methodology,
management tools, analysis and research tools, documentation tools, and reporting tools
required
o Experience in coaching and mentoring project team members preferred.
o Experience in creating an effective team environment, building strong relationships,
solving problems and issues, resolving conflicts, managing resources in a matrix
environment, communicating and influencing effectively at all levels of an organization
required
o Strong interpersonal and both verbal and non-verbal communication skills
o Experience managing cross-functional resources in a matrix environment
o Experience and/or working knowledge of the PMI PMBOK Knowledge Areas,
Processes and Methodology
o Formal certification in Project Management required
o PMP certification from Project Management Institute desired
o Proficiency in: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project
o Experience in SharePoint desired
