About the position
Title Operational Excellence Manager
 
Location Vernon Hills, IL
 
Job Summary The Operational Excellence Manager will lead process improvement projects directed at core business processes across the organization. These process areas include (but are not limited to) operations, purchasing and customer relations. The Manager will utilize quality tools and process improvement techniques as part of their day to day responsibilities. In addition, the position will work to improve CDW cost savings, customer experience and operational efficiencies. The position will ensure a project’s financial, operational and customer improvements are realized.
 
Responsibilities

- Lead and drive process improvement projects to deliver significant operational improvement and financial benefit in both transactional and operational environments.
- Partner with senior level business sponsors, process owners and project teams to assess current processes, generate solutions and implement improvements within and across functions.
- Lead discussions with operations leadership to identify, select and prioritize projects, assign sponsors and validate potential benefits.
- Act as change agent to instill a continuous process improvement culture throughout the organization.
- Deliver significant business impact on potential project opportunities.
- Evaluate solutions and develop implementation plans.


 
Qualifications

 - Ability to influence peers and high level managers
 - Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of an organization
 - Ability to build strong working relationships with internal customers
 - Demonstrated consistent level of high performance
 - Ability to communicate effectively and in a constructive manner with management, peers and coworkers.

Minimum Basic Qualifications
 - Bachelor's degree
 - Formal Six Sigma or lean Six Sigma training - Black Belt or lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
 - Completed 3 transactional or consolidation related projects with demonstrated success and financial results
 - Proficiency in Minitab, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Showcase query or equivalent reporting tools.
 - 3-5 years of business/operations experience

Other Required Qualifications
 - Excellent communication skills
 - Monitor performance and improvements through key metrics
 - Strong communication / presentation skills.
 - Results oriented with the ability to bring teams together to achieve targets and goals

Preferred Qualifications
 - Proficiency with Cognos and Showcase Query.
 - Experience working in a fast-paced work environment
