Outreach Activities

The Outreach Program began several years ago in the PMI-Chicagoland Chapter as a means of contacting organizations on behalf of the Project Management Institute and promoting project management as a profession. Volunteers on the Outreach team work with organizations in advancing their understanding and application of both project management and the project management profession. We provide talks, speakers, information, networking and even hands-on involvement in project management activities.  We do not do staff training, vendor referrals or formal consulting. The outreach volunteers gain knowledge and experience in return for their work efforts.

Outreach is a strategic initiative of PMI. The first two years of Outreach were with university programs, instructors and students. Then Corporate Outreach was added, as well as an Outreach program for Other Associations. The Chicagoland Chapter's Outreach Program aligns its work with the PMI global organization-its Board's strategic objectives and the CEO's global Advocacy program--as well as with the PMI-Chicagoland Chapter's Strategic Plan.
